Every year a grand Republic Day Parade is held on Rajpath in New Delhi which showcases India's military might and cultural diversity.

The Republic Day Parade starts from the Raisina Hill near the Rashtrapati Bhavan (President's Palace), along the Rajpath, past India Gate.

President of India, who is the Supreme Commander of Armed Forces, takes salute while the parade takes place.

The Prime Minister of India along with other top political leaders of the ruling party UPA and opposition party BJP will be present at the Raj Path along with the state guest of honour for Republic Day celebrations who this year will be Sultan Of Oman, Qaboos bin Said Al Said.
