Recently Indian Government announced that they accept the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) for India. Inspite of this announcement, there were many agitations going around the country.
Now Walmart has announced on Friday (09/21) that it aims to launch its first store in India within the 12 to 18 months. Walmart spokesperson didn't reveal about the number of stores that it will open in India. Us based Walmart and French Supermarket Careefour, these two were the big shots in the consumer retail business and they were behind India for longtime and they don't want to miss this opportunity which gives them the another 2 billion consumers.
Along with this Sweden's IKEA is already awaiting for approval from India for marketing its Flat pack furnishing business. So Indian Market are open for the Foreign Investors.
