JFW, South India`s leading women`s magazine hosted the fifth edition of its JFW Women Achievers` Awards on March 1, 2013 in Chennai. The awardees this year were Sania Mirza, Trisha Krishnan, Dr Tessy Thomas, Alarmel Valli, Saroja Devi, Sujatha Mohan, Dipika Pallikal and Hansika Motwani.

The awards were presented by some of the most successful and renowned men from the film industry. Actors Madhavan and Jiiva presented the award to Trisha for Excellence In Entertainment while actor Dhanush presented Sania Mirza her award for Excellence In Sports. Ace music director Harris Jayraj and director K V Anand presented the award for Excellence In Music to Sujatha Mohan.

The others who presented the awards included national award-winning cinematographer Santosh Sivan to Tessy Thomas (Science and Technology), Devi Sri Prasad and Khushbu to Hansika Motwani (Sensation Of The Year), cinematographer Ravi K Chandran to Alarmel Valli (Classical Dance), singer Vijay Yesudas to Dipika Pallikal (Newsmaker of 2012) and legendary singer P Susheela to veteran actor Saroja Devi (Legend).

There were foot-tapping dance performances and music performances by stars like Anjali, Varalaxmi, Remya Nambesan, Andrea, Anirud and Shwetha Mohan. An acrobatic salsa performance by kids had everyone gasping in wonder.

The 7th edition of the Vijay Awards (Vijay Awards 2013) will take place at the Jawaharlal Stadium in Chennai on Saturday, May 11, 2013.

The Vijay Awards are presented by the Tamil television channel STAR Vijay to honour excellence in Tamil cinema. These awards are been given every year since 2006.

The awards are decided by a jury, consisting of noted filmmakers, critics and technicians, while winners in a separate category named “Favourite awards” are chosen by public voting.

After Rakhi Sawant and Ratan Rajput, now its turn of Actress Mallika Sherawat to find her Mr Right through a television show.

Rahul Mahajan, Rakhi Sawant and Ratan Rajput were seen hunting for their respective partners on the reality show ‘Swayamvar’ on NDTV Imagine but out of those three it was only Rahul Mahajan who was lucky enough to find his soulmate Dimpy on the show and they even tied the knot on the show itself.

Now its 36 year-old Mallika Sherawat who is looking for a suitable groom for her and for that she will feature in ‘The Bachelorette India – Mere Khayalon Ki Mallika’, which will air on Life OK.

The show will be based on US TV show ‘The Bachelor’.

Mallika is quite clear about the kind of guy she wants to date.

“I’m looking for someone who is self-made, well educated, grounded and above all someone who can be a friend and not just a lover,” Mallika said in a statement.

“I prefer men who take risks in life, and especially the ones who are not afraid to speak their mind. I’m hoping that through ‘The Bachelorette India’, I find what I’m truly looking for – a friend and a soulmate,” added the actress known for films like ‘Murder’ and ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects’.

Ajit Thakur, general manager, Life OK, is proud of the association with a global format and said it has many successful seasons in about 25 countries.

‘The Bachelorette India – Mere Khayalon Ki Mallika’ is scheduled to go on air in August on Life OK TV channel.

The two new get-ups Rajinikanth sports in his upcoming flick Kochadaiyaan (Vikram Simha in Telugu) were unveiled Today. It must be said that the Superstar is just stunning in these different avatars - one as a warrior and the other as a well-built man.
